About Me

My photo
I love going to the beach and picking up objects formed by the sea. But I live in a city. This is a collection of things I find on my travels.

Autumn

I think that Hydrangeas in their dead, dried up autumnal state are just as lovely as when they are in full bloom. As they dry up and start to decay, the skeletal structure of the petals becomes clear, and they look mint with light shining through them! (yes I've done this). Try telling that to people in Whickham (Gateshead in joke) (they all have nice gardens). Although if it wasn't for these avid gardeners, we wouldn't be able to find such lovely flowers in cities and suburbs. Fun fact about Hydrangeas: their colour is dependant on the acidity of the soil! Alkaline soils produce pink flowers, neutral soils white flowers and acidic soils produce blue flowers (my favourite, thanks for asking). Happy Autumn x
